My Story

I didn’t set out to start a brand. I just needed to find purpose and meaning in my illnesses.

Hi; I'm the person behind Sick Humor Supply Co. — one woman navigating life with Long COVID, POTS, Small Fiber Neuropathy and probably at least a couple more diagnoses that I haven't had the energy or capacity to chase down (think: MCAS and ME/CFS).

Like a lot of people with chronic illness, I’m doing my best to balance work (from home, thankfully), care for myself and my dogs, and make it through days that sometimes feel like gravity itself is out to get me. All this while battling brain fog, slogging through medical appointments that go nowhere, trying new supplements like it's my job, and strategically scheduling showers to allow for at least 24 hours of recovery afterward. (If you know, you know.)

The idea for what evolved into this brand came to me on a night those of us in the chronic illness community know all too well — when sleep just wasn’t happening. I got a random idea with a spark of “hey, maybe I could actually do something with this.”

I kept thinking about how living with chronic illness feels like earning an honorary degree. You end up knowing more about your body (and your condition) than most of the doctors you see. That led to the idea of chronic illness “universities,” mascots and all. It started with one collection… then another… and suddenly I had a whole shop full of designs that felt like me — and maybe like you, too.

Sick Humor Supply Co. is for anyone living with chronic illness, misunderstood conditions, or a body that refuses to follow the script. It’s for the people who are tired of hearing “but you don’t look sick,” “hope you feel better soon,” or “you’re still not better?”

It’s my way of finding purpose in my new reality, taking everything we live with — the fatigue, the brain fog, the gaslighting, the late-night spirals, the random symptoms that make zero sense — and turning it into something that might make someone smile, laugh, or feel a little more seen. It’s also my way of giving something back to the chronic illness and disability community — a community I wasn’t part of until recently, but about which I now care about deeply.

Some of my designs are corny, some are snarky, and all of them come from what's left of my fog encapsulated brain.

I hope something here makes you feel understood. And if it makes you laugh? Even better. And if you enjoy these sort of ramblings, be sure to check out the Blog.
